Preparation
For best results, careful surface preparation is required. Surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry, free from weathered matter, loose and scalling paint, dust, oil and salt. Careful preparation is essential for good adhesion.
New concrete or cement mortar surfaces: Allow one month at least after construction before painting. Surfaces must be dry and free from damp and dust. Apply 10% of solution of muriatic acid to open up the pores and provide a tighter bond for the paint. Pour solution on surface and brush it until acid ceases to effervesce. Wash off muriatic acid with plenty of clean water and scrub the surface to remove all foreign matter. Allow to dry at least one week before painting. Previously painted surfaces: Remove any dirt and weathered matter by wire-brushing. Wash off with plenty of water. Surfaces must be dry before painting.
